Aaron N. Lewis, DMD

Dentist & Owner

Dr. Aaron H. Lewis joined Brazos River Dental (formerly Banks Family Dental) in 2017, purchasing the practice in 2018. His philosophy of care centers on helping people understand oral diseases and how they can be treated. He strives to provide dental treatment in a way that is pain-free while creating restorations that function naturally and are durable.

Dr. Lewis provides a broad range of dental services and completes many procedures in-house that are commonly referred to other offices or specialists, including endodontics, dental implants, oral surgery, dentures, crown and bridge treatment, and periodontics. Patients are often surprised to learn that both dental implant placement and implant restorations can be completed in his office.

Dr. Lewis completed undergraduate studies with a major in exercise physiology and a minor in chemistry. He began his career in the dental field in 2006 as a dental assistant. He also worked part-time as a quality inspector for Arrowhead Dental Lab before graduating from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in 2011. Over his years as a dentist, Dr. Lewis has developed extensive experience in restorative, cosmetic, implant, endodontic, surgical, periodontal, and removable dentistry. He estimates that he has completed at least 9,000 dental crowns, thousands of bridges, at least 25,000 fillings or restorative cases, thousands of tooth extractions, hundreds of wisdom tooth extractions, and several hundred root canal cases. His experience with removable dentistry includes several hundred to approximately 1,000 denture cases, as well as several hundred partial denture cases.

Dental implants have also been a significant part of Dr. Lewis's clinical experience. He has provided implant services and restored dental implants since 2011 and has placed dental implants since 2012. He estimates that he has completed several hundred implant restorations and placed several hundred dental implants, along with nearly 100 implant-supported or snap-in denture cases. He is also a certified instructor for DIO IMPLANT USA and has completed more than 100 hours of continuing education in dental implants.

His cosmetic, orthodontic and restorative experience includes at least 100 veneer cases, at least 100 bonding cases, and hundreds of professional teeth whitening cases. Dr. Lewis has also completed more than 50 clear aligner or orthodontic cases.

Dr. Lewis's experience extends to treatment for TMJ-related concerns, occlusal appliances, periodontal disease, and sedation dentistry. He has completed more than 500 night guard cases and more than 100 TMJ splint cases, as well as thousands of periodontal therapy cases. He has provided sedation dentistry since 2012 and has completed more than 70 moderate sedation cases. His continuing education includes more than 100 hours in sedation dentistry, approximately 20–30 hours in endodontics or root canal therapy, 20–30 hours in oral surgery or extractions, and 20–30 hours in periodontal therapy.

Continuing education remains an important part of Dr. Lewis's professional development. He aims to complete approximately 30–50 hours of continuing education each year. He is a member of the American Dental Association® (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).

Dr. Lewis incorporates several technologies into patient care and treatment planning. He has used CBCT or 3D imaging since 2018 and digital impressions since 2021. He has also used dental lasers since 2023, along with 3D scanning cameras, and other technology that support diagnosis, treatment planning, efficiency, and patient education.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Lewis is the oldest of six children. He and his wife, Julie, have been married since 2005 and have four children. He enjoys camping, fishing, and hunting and particularly enjoys Dutch oven outdoor cooking for friends and family. More recently, he has also taken an interest in woodworking. Dr. Lewis is an Eagle Scout, an achievement he earned in 1994.

Kim

Office Manager

Kim started her career in dentistry in 1994 as a dental hygienist where she loved helping patients with dental anxiety overcome their fears so they could develop relationships with their caregivers and make their visits more enjoyable and effective. In 2021 she made the transition to the administrative side of dentistry and in 2022 became our office manager. Kim is a hands-on manager whose experience as a clinician allows for a greater perspective on workflow.

When she's not at the office she loves treasure hunting at antique stores, finding great places to eat, travelling and most of all hanging out at the lake with family.

Macy

Dental Assistant & Reception

Macy is the first face you see at our office. She greets every visitor with a smile and is dedicated to making every patient feel welcomed and cared for from the moment they arrive. With over seven years of dental field experience, she loves helping patients in both the front office and chairside with the doctor.

In her free time, she enjoys antique hunting and spending time with her husband and family. Macy is grateful to do what she loves in her hometown.

Beatriz

Dental Assistant & Insurance Coordinator

Beatriz started her dental career in 2018 as a dental assistant. She joined our team in 2023 as a dental assistant and receptionist. Now Beatriz is our insurance coordinator. She is passionate about helping our patients understand and utilize their insurance benefits. She strives to make every visit as smooth and stress-free as possible. Her caring nature, positive attitude and friendly personality help create a welcoming environment for both our patients and co-workers.

Outside of the office, Beatriz is a proud mom of two wonderful girls, who are the center of her world. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, solving a good puzzle, backyard cookouts, or simply relaxing when she has the chance.

Christine

Dental Hygienist

Christine began her dental path as a registered dental assistant in 2005 and continued her education to earn a registered dental hygienist license in 2016. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health. Christine's passion lies in preventive care, where she focuses on educating and empowering patients to make informed decisions about their overall wellbeing. She believes that oral health is closely connected to overall systemic health and takes a personalized approach to patient care by correlating medical and dental health to develop individualized treatment plans. With empathy, attention to detail and a commitment to compassionate care, she strives to create a comfortable environment where every patient feels heard, respected, and supported. Christine's goal is to build lasting relationships based on trust while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that promotes lifelong health and confident smiles.

Outside of dentistry, family is at the heart of everything she does. Christine cherishes spending quality time with her loved ones and creating lasting memories together. Whether they're enjoying the outdoors, celebrating special occasions, or simply relaxing at home, family is her greatest source of joy and inspiration. As an avid animal lover, she enjoys caring for her dogs, cats, horses, and donkeys, who are an important part of her life. In her free time, you'll often find her on the golf course, horseback riding or pursuing a passion for trap and skeet shooting.

Mary Lynn

Dental Hygienist

Mary Lynn graduated from Georgia Perimeter College with her Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene in 1999. She moved to Texas in 2009 and began working at our office in 2011. (Dr. Lewis says she came with the practice.) Mary Lynn is passionate about teaching patients about the connection between their oral health and full body wellness. It fulfills her desire to educate people while developing trusting relationships with those who depend on her for their oral health.

Mary Lynn is an outdoor enthusiast and a lover of animals and nature. Her favorite things to do are hiking and photographing nature's beauty. She grew up in Florida, and the ocean is her favorite spot to relax.

Adri

Dental Assistant

Adri has been a registered dental assistant since 2019. She has been with the Brazos River Dental family since 2021. The patient's experience is her priority, and she works hard to ensure every patient feels comfortable in our office. The most rewarding part of her job is helping every patient achieve a beautiful smile.

In her spare time, she loves to read, spend time with her family, whether that be going to the lake, staying at home and relaxing or busy doing sports mom things.

Danica

Dental Assistant

Danica joined our team in 2026. She loves to help patients feel comfortable and confident during their dental visits. She enjoys dentistry because it gives her the opportunity to make a positive difference in her patients' smiles and overall health. She is passionate about continuing to grow in her career while being part of a team that helps people smile with confidence.

Outside of work, she loves playing soccer and spending time with her Australian Shepherd, Buddy, who always keeps her active and entertained.

Kodi

Dental Assistant

Kodi has been a dental assistant since 2016. She joined our team in 2024. As a passionate dental assistant, she is dedicated to transforming smiles and restoring her patients' self-esteem.

When she isn't making a difference in our practice, she manages a bustling, happy household with her husband, kids, and three beloved dogs. The entire family shares a deep love for baseball, spending their favorite moments cheering together from the stands.
